So, you’ve finally arrived in Boston and have decided to stay at Bricco Suites. Yes, the North End offers some utterly delicious options in terms of cuisine, but what else is there to do in the area? If you find yourself with a day or two off, you can elect to visit one or all three of the following places located right in the North End!
If you’re in the mood for some improv and sketch comedy, there’s no better place in the North End than Improv Asylum. Located in a basement on Hanover Street, this comedy club offers tickets priced between $20 and $30. They perform about 12 shows per week, but you might have to act fast to get tickets because the performances are quite popular. These are some top-notch comedians and your visit is guaranteed to result in plenty of laughs. If you feel like starting off your night right, head over to Improv Asylum.
St. Leonard’s Church
Regardless of your stance on religion, St. Leonard’s Church is incredibly beautiful. It is the first Roman Catholic Church in New England, and sits in the heart of the North End. Compared to the white wooden furnishings and minimal decorations of Old North Church, St. Leonard’s is quite ornate. It has gilded ceilings and several depictions of different saints and religious figures.
Another location right on Hanover Street, this place prides itself on being the first Italian café in the city of Boston. It has a charming atmosphere, and antique prints and coffee machines are spread throughout the venue. However, you go for the atmosphere and stay for the coffee. We prefer the cappuccino, but there are several options to try in addition to a selection of Italian pastries. Pop in sometime during your extended stay!
You see, there are more than just restaurants to explore in the North End. If any of the recommendations on this list jump out at you, give them a visit when you feel like sticking around Bricco Suites for a day. You certainly won’t be disappointed.
